Have you ever seen 117 cameras at once?
It’s... an experience.
No, they don’t all work.
No, I don’t know which ones do and do not work.
Yes, they’re cool.
No, you can’t just “have one”.
My dad was a collector. He was a collector of... a lot of things. We have enough hunting knives for the entire cast of Game of Thrones… to all have kids and gift them all knives. As in enough for the ENTIRELY series’ cast (and probably crew, too). Point is: my dad never half-assed any collection. It’s surreal how quickly items can go from “literally just cluttering my trip from my bedroom to the bathroom” to “the most precious heirlooms”. Death just flips a switch. I wish I knew everything about these cameras. I wish I knew why each individual camera ended up in this collection. I wish I knew which one has a sticky shutter, and which one needs a tune up. I wish I knew the thoughts that came before each purchase (were they even purchased? Found? Stolen? Any case could be possible). The human experience is completely ineffable. What I would give for a transcript from my dad’s brain. Everything is speculation, clumsily thrown through a filter of what I think his intentions were, based on my limited time with him. I just miss him. He had the best mind.
