I’m Amber and I love to paint on any surface under the sun. It’s the best!
Can you benefit from a mural?
Short answer: YES! Fill out the form below to get in touch.
Thank you!
The Walkway Phase 2
The Walkway Project is complete! I’ve stacked some succulents to keep colour in the walkway through the long winter months. This was such an incredible project to be a part of! I’m very grateful for the support from The City of Guelph to make The Walkway more beautiful and fun to walk through (and so you can really sense the vibe of Necessary Arts from the outside in).
StART - Scarlett Road
✨Jellyfish in the city✨ I’m (societally-deemed) behind on posting work that I’ve been up to lately! 🚲 Bike barriers! 🚲 I had an awesome opportunity (thank you @start_streetartoronto) to paint 4 double-sided concrete bike barriers as part of the Scarlett Road Cycle Track program! Most of my work is very much leaning toward “flora”, though being put into the “fauna” category gave me a chance to paint (a very floral) species I’ve always loved: jellyfish! Catch them in their very local environment (Ripley’s Aquarium) and consider this my super valid entry to honour the city’s diverse “fauna” 😎 I met so many incredibly inspiring artists (like... an upsetting, infuriating, jaw-droppingly-wicked amount of talent) turn a parking lot of concrete into a visual jungle spread of technicolor!
Special shoutout to @work.by.jess for helping me out when my dominant arm was ruined!
Neighbourhood Love - Etobicoke
Neighbourhood Love! Heavy on the love y’all. If you’re unfamiliar, here’s the GoFundMe description, peppered with my own lil commentary: “Recently, a South Etobicoke Community Group member commissioned the well-known Toronto artist @natalieveryb (if you’re not already, FOLLOW THIS TOTAL QUEEN👑 ) to paint her garage door. Shortly after the mural was completed, she received an anonymous hand-written note in red sharpie stating, "You do not live in a house, you live in a community!'. This was soon followed by a typed anonymous letter titled: "Ghetto Garage Door". The homeowner shared the letter with the South Etobicoke Community Group and sent it to the press (there’s a full Toronto Star article, but we’re on insta rn and that’s not a thing that’s possible to link here). The overwhelming response here and beyond reflects a supportive neighbourhood and a city condemning the aggressive act as "cowardly" and "not representative of the community at all." Moved by the online outpouring of support for the South Etobicoke family, a group of local artists are organizing a street-level demonstration of love! We are volunteering our professional skills to visibly express the positive, diverse and inclusive spirit of the South Etobicoke Community.” To say this “took off” would be the understatement of the century 🤯. Even in the time I went to @julii_mcmillo ‘s site to just pick up paint, two sets of neighbours came through and asked for their own lawn sign! This initiative gave my soul hope. It was so incredible to be able to add a little bit of colour to this community (and honestly Mr/Ms/Mrs Anonymous, I take great joy shovin’ some damn LOVE in your ignorant, culture-less, small-minded faaaaa-aaace)! Thank you so much for the opportunity, thank you to all the sponsors; thank you to Claire and your family for your faith, your support, and your PERFECT pumpkin spice muffins! Thank you to @theadriannechan for volunteering and being a tape master. Talk about feeling THANKFUL! 🖤
Necessary Arts - Walkway, City of Guelph
The City of Guelph supported the members of Necessary Arts in adding some public art to the space in The Walkway, to make it more inviting, and to showcase the artists in the collective within the Walkway area. The imagery is based from reference photos from Mexico City. The job was 9:00am to 8:00pm.

The Red Brick Café, Guelph ON
This was a fun design to update this Downtown Guelph institution. Their objective was to make a classic, eye-catching look to encourage walk-up traffic to their pandemic-safe walk-up window.
THE DESIGN BEHIND IT
The Red Brick Café was looking for a refreshing new look for their new Covid-safe takeout window. The design was inspired by the Ukrainian Co-op in Regina, and a street artist Louise “Ouizi” Chen. The transom windows would also have the design run to the top of the 14 foot ceiling of the entry foyer.

Four Fathers Brewing Co, Cambridge ON
THE DESIGN BEHIND IT
This is the staff communication board for the event space above Four Fathers Brewing Co. Weddings and private events get booked and servers will need to know what’s ahead on the calendar to be fully prepared for work. This was such a fun project, making a cohesive visual communication piece that can be fully functional and fun.
The space needed an update, and a cohesive brand look. The Four Fathers typography is a narrow sans serif, and I wanted to keep their signage inclusive of the established, clean look they had already.
Wellington Brewery, Guelph ON
Wellington Brewery had asked me to make a menu for their Covid-conscious walk-up window. As an Essential Service, their doors have remained open during the entire pandemic, and have made some “complete overhaul” procedural changes to their operation. This is a classic Guelph staple, having been open for over 30 years. I wanted to add some vintage nostalgia to their new “drive thru”.
The One of a Kind Show, Toronto ON
This was my booth design for my One of a Kind Winter 2019 Show. I wanted to incorporate my fine art work into my overall brand, that would showcase my paper products as well. I used my piece “Botanico” as inspiration for the wall design.
